J.R. Manes joined HSBC in October 2018 after serving more than 12 years as a Cyber Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During his FBI career, J.R. led complex criminal and national security cyber investigations. He received the FBI Director’s Award for Outstanding Cyber Investigation, the Directorate of National Intelligence’s National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation, and the FBI’s Medal of Excellence for his investigative work against nation state cyber actors. J.R. also was a member of the FBI Cyber Action Team, a world-wide rapid cyber investigative fly-team that deployed to the most critical cyber incidents on behalf of the U.S. Government. J.R. has a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science and has a passion for data analytics, malware analysis, coffee, and cyber threat research and intelligence.
